Door Mats

Door mats are designed to be placed right outside the front door to a home. This generally brings forward a few qualities which may not be required of other rugs within the home. Among these qualities are the ability to be long-lasting, to offer visitors an area to wipe their shoes, and to simply provide a warm greeting.

Durability is an important trait for door mats to hold because, unlike other mats, they are faced with outdoor weather. In windy areas, a style which is less likely to be blown around due to weight and grip is also desirable. The surface of a doormat should also be able to take the constant traffic.

Door mats may also serve to welcome visitors to the home. With nicer welcome items, you may not wish for visitors to scrub their shoes off on its surface. If this is the case, then consider purchasing a boot brush to leave right next to the mat.
